Obama Vows Blood For The Bloodthirsty
© 2008 J. Matt Barber
It’s a day like any other. The kids are safe at school and you’re at work wishing you weren’t. All is as it should be. Then your cell phone rings. On the other end is your twelve-year-old daughter’s junior high school guidance counselor. Amid nervous hemming and hawing you detect that something’s horribly wrong. Then the words, “I’m sorry, she didn’t make it.”
At first it doesn’t register. Then it clicks and your soul is pierced. The room begins to spin and rapidly close in. You sink deep and grab for something. But nothing on this earth will hold you up.
Nightmare becomes reality as you learn that your little girl has just bled to death – alone and afraid – on a cold slab at the local Planned Parenthood clinic, the victim of a botched abortion. She was driven there, unbeknownst to you, by the very guidance counselor to whom you speak.
You didn’t even know she was pregnant. Like any child in her shoes, she was afraid to tell you – afraid of what you’d think – afraid you’d be ashamed. So she told someone else. Someone she trusted. Someone she thought cared for her. Someone who decidedly did not.
No one called. No one asked. No one said a word. They didn’t have to. They killed your baby and your baby’s baby in secret.
You feel powerless.
You should.
You are.
It was all legal, you see, and there’s not a thing you can do about it – nothing.
As Tuesday’s election fast approaches, you’re officially on notice. It’s not a question of whether similar scenarios will play out under an Obama presidency. It’s a question of how often and to what degree.
You needn’t wonder what the first official act of a President Obama will be. He’s told us. At a national Planned Parenthood fundraiser last year, Obama promised members of the billion dollar abortion industry their heart’s desire: Unfettered, unrestricted and federally enforced abortion on demand throughout all nine months of pregnancy.
“Well, the
first thing I'd do as president,” an exuberant Obama told his fawning
like-minded pro-aborts, “is sign the Freedom
of Choice Act.
That's the first thing that I'd do.”
What’s the
Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA)? What
would it do?
Well, contrary to
Obama’s disingenuous rhetoric promising to “reduce the number of
abortions,” FOCA would – with one stroke of the pen – remove every
commonsense regulation placed on the abortion industry over the past
three decades. Rather than
reducing the already astronomical rate of abortions, the number would
skyrocket ever-upward under an Obama presidency.
Among other things, FOCA would remove the right of parents to even know if their child is undergoing very risky and always deadly abortion surgery. Parental notification requirements in forty-four states would be wiped out. This means that some adult, any adult – even an adult sexual predator – could and would take his child victim to a sympathetic abortion clinic to destroy the human evidence of his crimes. All this, under the impenetrable veil of government-mandated secrecy.
But it gets worse yet. As the Family Research Council’s Tom McCluskey illustrates, FOCA – Barack Obama’s much loved and most pressing piece of legislation – would additionally abolish the following:
· State abortion reporting requirements in all 50 states
(Again, it’s all about secrecy. This means that we would never again be able to track the number of abortions performed each year. Ask yourself what good could come from hiding such statistics.)
· Forty-four states' laws concerning parental involvement
(As previously mentioned, Mom and Dad, you don’t get to have a say – or even know – if some strange adult is killing your grandchild or risking the life of your own child through abortion surgery.)
· Forty-six states' conscience protection laws for individual health care providers
(Christian,
Jewish and Muslim doctors – you will
perform abortions or lose your license to practice medicine.
“Kill the unborn child or find another line of work,” says
the man who would be President.)
· Twenty-seven states' conscience protection laws for institutions
(Religious hospitals will be forced to perform abortions or shut down – period.)
· Thirty-eight states' bans on partial-birth abortion
(The horrific practice of partial-birth abortion, which is nothing short of infanticide, will once again be permitted and performed nationwide without restriction or encumbrance. This, despite the fact that the American Medical Association has held that PBA is never necessary under any circumstance.)
· Thirty-three states' laws requiring counseling before an abortion
· Twenty-eight states' laws requiring a waiting period before an abortion, and
· Sixteen states' laws concerning ultrasounds before an abortion
(Yet again, it’s all about secrecy. Informed consent is the enemy of Planned Parenthood. The abortion industry is all too aware that the more a woman knows about the baby she’s about to kill, the less likely she is to go through with it. An educated woman means dollars lost. That’s why the abortion industry so desperately wants the “informed” half of “informed consent” removed.)
So, to the Christian, the Muslim, the Jew – even to those who consider yourselves “commonsense pro-choicers,” I say this: Don’t be fooled. The man you’re considering for the highest office in the land is an abortion extremist among extremists. His own words, actions and policies reveal him as such.
Under a President Obama, true freedoms will be trampled, parental rights will be taken, and millions of lives will be lost. As demonstrated, to cast a vote for Barack Obama is to be complicit in the trampling of those freedoms, the taking of those rights, and the loss of that life.
That’s not a burden my conscience can bear.
What about you?
