Speculation on whether Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, would make a major move to attack Israel, or the western world, was just that...speculation...at least of its happening on August. 22nd.

But, make no mistake Ahmadinejad does believe that it is his 'call' to help usher in the long-awaited Muslim 'Mahdi' and he is willing to trigger an apocalyptic event in order to hasten this 'coming.' (According to Islam belief the 'Mahdi' can only come under such circumstances).

According to Islamic teaching...the Muslim Jesus is coming back as a Muslim warrior and will kill all the Jews and Christians as well as the anti-Christ...who is a Jew.

There are varying versions amongst Muslims of who this 'Mahdi' is, however, a serious look at the history of Islam is essential in interpreting the religious fervor that is driving current radical and fundamentalist Islamic activities around the world today.

Following the UN cease-fire resolution on the war between Israel and Lebanon, Ahmadinejad said this, "God's promises have come true. On one side, it's corrupt powers of the criminal U.S. and Britain and the Zionists ... with modern bombs and planes. And on the other side is a group of pious youth relying on God."

Whether Ahmadinejad's failure to respond by mid-July to the UN's deadline for him to stop enriching uranium was postponed for a major attack on August 22nd or not, this mad-man has made his plans known, and they need to be taken seriously. He really does believe that Israel should be wiped off the map. He is buddy-buddy with Hugo Chavez who has called for the world to unite to taken down America....

Ahmadinejad's and Chavez's language is not simply Anti-Semitic, anti-American rhetoric. Neither was Hitler's before he moved to action.

P.S. Ahmadinejad as one of the terrorists in Tehran who took American hostages in 1979.
